COX, EARP
My GGgrandfather Jonathon Douglas EARP and his wife Dorcas COX moved from KY prior to the Civil War, sometime after 1856, to Montgomery County. The family moved to Barton County before 1858. Others believe he moved to Barton in 1869. Regardless, he was a Methodist Episcopal minister. Do you have any info on his time in Montgomery Co?

MATHEWS, SINGLETON, SNETHEN
MATHEWS was the father of Sarah Ann MATHEWS SINGLETON, and I believe that her mother's name was SNETHEN. They lived in Americus, Mr. Mathews having been a sea captain from England originally, I understand. (See query below for Singleton.)

SINGLETON
I am currently looking for information about my great-grandparents, John William SINGLETON (b. 23 Apr 1850 Danville, MO - d. 4 Feb 1902 Danville, MO) and Sarah Ann MaTHEWS SINGLETON (b. 24 Jan 1863 Americus, MO - d. 6 Mar 1948 Pasadena, CA). The family owned a farm in Danville. Of their nine children, two were born in Danville: Donni Arlene b. 12 Apr 1887 and Nita Margaret (my beloved Grandma) b. 22 Mar 1901, the others being born in Colorado. I am hoping to be able to find out the names of their parents, date of marriage (which I'm fairly sure was in Danville), military service, and, well, anything that can be found. I would be deeply grateful for any information you can assist me with, and additional resources.

FORSHEY
Searching for data on family of Asbury O. FORSHEY, b. 1815 d. abt 1888 [or in Montgomery Co., MO. He married Harriet McGEE and had the following children: Asbury, Florence, Robert L. and Caleb. P. He was a state representative from Montgomery Co., from 1871 to abt 1888? Where might I find more data on him? I am writing a book on the FORSHEY family. Are there any descendants of Asbury still in Montgomery Co.?

FINLEY, GRAY, PRICE
Searching for the family of Mary "Polly" GRAY b. 17 Jun 1824 in Kentucky, who was raised by her grandparents in the Brush Creek area of Montgomery Co., MO, from age of three. Not sure who the grandparents were -- maybe Joseph GRAY and Mary FINLEY. Found information on the GRAY family from "Missouri Pioneers," p. 259. Possibly Mary was the daughter of William GRAY and Margaret PRICE, who were married in Warren Co., KY, in 1822. Hope to find more about all of these families. Mary GRAY married Francis Beatty CLARE in abt. 1840 in Lincoln or Montgomery Co., MO. Am told that she had a brother, Robert GRAY, who went to Pike Co., MO, and a sister who married George FENTEM. MEANS, SHOUSH
I am seeking information about Hezekiah Monholland SHOUSH (b.26 Nov 1818 KY) who married Gillie Ann MEANS (b. 24 Aug 1824) in, I believe, Montgomery City about 1843. Their children were Mary Jane, Chastiny (Tina), William O. (or A.), Elizabeth, Jacob, John Thomas, and Francis Marion. They have connections to Audrain and Macon Counties. I have much family lineage information and would be pleased to share.

NUNNELLY
I am a descendant of Creed NUNNELLY (1823-VA) and Prudence (1828-Ky). They had the following children: Maggie (Henry Page), Lincoln, Mary (Alfred Moore), Lula (Price Forrest), Creed Allan, Amanda (John Thornhill), Mitchell, John, Luther, Hattie (William Green), Pearl, and Laura (Henry Day). During the 1900 census they were living in Montgomery County. I am looking for any information you may have about any of these NUNNELLYs. TRIPLETT
My ggggg-grandfather Thomas TRIPLETT's last known place of residence is Montgomery Co, where he bought land in 1839. We don't know what happened to him after this, but he would have been at least in his seventies by then, but possibly older. His wife's name was Elizabeth WASHBURN or Mashburn, and she may have been considerably younger than he. Any help you may be able to give me with this elusive fellow would be greatly appreciated.

HIGGENBOTHAM, HIGGENBOTTOM
Am hunting for the HIGGENBOTHAM family. Know some lived in Montgomery County at one time. Thank you for any help you can give me. Please let me know where on line I can get the information as I am disabled and cannot drive to there to look for myself.
The HIGGENBOTTOM family has a reunion every August at Halfway, Missouri, on Highway 32. I am secretary for the reunion and it is held the first Sunday of August each year. We have over 300 family members and a lot of them attend each year. The reunion is held at the Lion's Club house which sits right next to a concrete plant and has a large parking lot. It starts at 10:00 a.m. and we have a carry-in lunch and meeting with a lot of fun.

I am not finding the surname CROUCH in the indexes so far. Sarah CROUCH, d/o William CROUCH and Phebe McDANIEL, was born 31 Mar 1880 (or 1884) in Prairie Twp, according to family sources. HARMAN, OTTINGER
Ella Ruth HARMAN b. 25 Mar 1895 in Greene Co., MO. Graduated from highschool in Bellflower, Montgomery Co. She married Earl E. OTTINGER. He was station agent in Troy, Lincoln Co., MO, for many years (1914-1930?). They had two children, Mary and William. Ella Ruth's father was Dr. William Roby HARMAN; he graduated from American Medical College, in St. Louis, April, 1903. She had three brothers; Ira L., Earl H., and Troy P. It is not known if they attended school in Bellflower or not. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

DAY, HALL, LOFTON, OAKES, RISK
These families lived near Wellsville in the 1910's. I am looking for any information on the RISK family -- Howard Levi RISK m, Inez Pollard LOFTON Dec 1912, but I find limited info prior to the wedding. Howard's mother was Betty DAY RISK, and grandmother was Melvinna WINN DAY. Am also looking for sibling and parent information on Florence HALL OAKES, her sister Jennie Francis HALL LOFTON, and their brothers Jim HALL and John HALL. Parents believed to be James F. HALL and Serapata BURGESS. John HALL believed to be a "part-time hobo who liked to ride the trains" (from my grandmother). Have pictures and other family history to share.

GOLD, HOUKE
Seeking any/all info related to the families of Daisy GOLD and Henry Milton HOUKE, known to have lived in Montgomery Co. 1910-1918, and probably earlier. Prior to their marriage around 1908, he was married to an unknown woman with whom he had two sons, both of whom died as young men. Five children were born to Daisy and Henry Milton HOUKE in Montgomery Co.; one was stillborn and buried there. Daisy was one of ten children, including a brother, Ozro, and sisters, Florie, Emilie (Emel), Elizabeth (Lizzie), Myrtle, and Mary. Ozro was said to have married a woman named Ann. The mother of all of these children was also supposed to have been named Ann. The GOLDs were said to have been of German (Prussian?), Scottish, and Indian descent.

I am searching for information on Miss Carie (Carolina Melissa) MARTIN who married William M. CALVERT, M.D., in Montgomery Co., MO, 1870. They had a daughter Cecil in 1882 and a daughter Iona 1892. Iona was my grandmother born in Schuyler, NE. Carie went by the name of Carolina. William and Carolina also lived in Atchison Co., Jefferson City, MO, and Kansas. DICKERSON, RITTER
I am looking for cemeteries in the McKittrick, MO, area. Specifically I am looking for a Nancy DICKERSON who married Florent RITTER in mid-1840's. She died in 1851. I have been unable to find where she and her youngest son, James, were buried. Florent and his second wife are buried in the Loutre Island Cemetery in Warren Co. I would appreciate your help. Ann (MARTIN) BROWN (Apr 1835 - ?); Caroline E. (MARTIN) MARTIN HOPKINS (8 Sep 1837 - 15 Jan 1899); Flanders Elijah MARTIN (17 Sep 1839 - 18 Jun 1843); Benjamin Cleveland MARTIN (12 Apr 1842 - 11 Apr 1919 Lowell, Benton Co., AR) m. Mary Jane HOPKINS (15 Jan 1842 Elk Horn Twp, Montgomery Co.), d/o Thomas HOPKINS and Lydia BECK; William MARTIN (Apr 1844 - ?). Most of this info was from our family Bible. I believe that Jemima BARNES father's name was James BARNES, but yet to prove. On her tombstone it says d/o J. BARNES and L. or S. BARNES. Is there really any help out there!?! COPE, DAVIDSON, LEONARD, SEE, SHAW
Hoping to find someone with information about the cyclone in May 1896 that killed Sarah DAVIDSON SEE and her son Claudius at their rural Montgomery County home. Is there a newspaper account of this tragedy? She was the wife of George Washington SEE, m. 1876 Montgomery Co., MO. He was son of Anthony Baker SEE and Julia LEONARD. Also would like to learn about Sarah's parents, was told she grew up in Big Springs area, she was b. 1855. Believe her middle name was Elvira or Eloisa. When George W. SEE died in 1901, his two youngest children, Frankie Ethel b. 1887 and Anthony Ray b. 1890, were minors. They became wards of Friend WELLS. Would like to find out more about this family also. Frankie Ethel m. Virgil E. COPE in 1904. Thanks for any help you can offer.

BOLY, LIVELL, PAINTER
I'm searching for information on James Elbert PAINTER who was born in Montgomery City, MO, on 12 Sep 1880 and died in Ellisville, St. Louis Co., MO, on 5 May 1967. He was married to Mary Ann (BOLY) PAINTER. She was born in Rankan, MO (can't find where this was, around KC, MO, I was told), on 10 Aug 1881 and died on 31 Mar 1962 in Valley Park, St. Louis Co., MO. They had lived in Valley Park for at least 30 years. They were my birth mother's parents. Due to divorce when I was two, I never got to know them. Any and all information about James or parents or siblings, even school records, would be appreciated. No one still alive knows who his parents were or even where they came from. Thank you.
