FERGUSON, ROBERTS
Seeking information on Robert Lee FERGUSON, b. about 1870, married Lena Alice ROBERTS between 1890-1898. Settled in Jonesburg, MO. Had son Carl FERGUSON, b. 1898, and daughter Jane FERGUSON, b. about 1896. Robert apparently passed on before Lena, and Lena moved to Newton, Massachusetts, where she died and was buried in Brighton Cemetery, just outside of Newton. According to Carl's birth certificate, Lena was born in KY approx 1871. The jump to Missouri still keeps me puzzled. Anyone have any ideas onevents or historical reasons why many moved from KY to MO? I'm finding quite a few instances of that. Any help on parentage of Lena or Robert would be appreciated.

Mary E., my great-grandmother married Frank HUGHES in Missouri between1880-1885 and had one child Elizabeth in 1885 still in Missouri. George and his family, including Mary and Elizabeth are in Van Buren County, Arkansas, in 1888. Another family headed by Andrew LUTE was also in the 1880 census living very close to George. Are they related? Will appreciate any information and will share the information I have.

GILLESPIE, WARD
Searching for the parents and/or siblings of Mary Catherine WARD, born 23 Dec 1845, Montgomery Co., MO. She married William Whitman GILLESPIE 30 Aug 1863, Albany, Gentry Co., MO. Their children: Pauline "Polly - Auntie", Robert, William Theodore, Francis E. "Frank", H. H. "Hins", Thomas, "Lennie", Emma, Arlene "Artie". Could Mary Catherine WARD be the daughter of Alexander WARD (ca 1818-?) and Martha PEERY (16 Aug 1818-Aug 1907)? Alexander and Martha were married on 14 Mar 1839 in Tazewell Co., VA. Their daughter Martha E. WARD was born 21 Apr 1844 in Montgomery Co., MO, and died 7 Nov 1892 in Daviess Co., MO. She married James Forrest McDaniel on 17 Jan 1865 in Gallatin, Daviess Co., MO. Another possibility is James W. and Martha E. WARD listed in the 1860 census for Gentry, MO, with a daughter named Mary born in 1845.

MAJOR
Searching for my great-grandfather's family, Samuel Collier MAJOR. He had a sister named Bess. He was born in Missouri in 1881. His cousin was governor in 1912, Elliott W. MAJOR. I noticed the marriage listing for Elliott's daughter in 1911 in this county's lookups. I feel I am finally starting to get close. Samuel was an actor on the legitimate stage during the late 1800's and into the 1900's. This has made it very difficult to find him as he was probably moving on to a new city every couple of weeks to perform on the stage. I am trying to pin down his birthplace and his parents' names.
